Small Characters is now going through the Colorado Shines Quality Rating and Improvement Program!
The Colorado Shines Quality Rating and Improvement Program is a system that works with all licensed childcare facilities in the state of Colorado to help improve the overall quality of care provided to kids ages birth through 5. Centers can choose to go through this very rigorous process. Small Characters started this process last August. We are very excited to be a part of Colorado Shines! Growing small characters……
The preschool students in our program demonstrated 96% growth in phonological awareness over the 2024-2025 school year! We use a play-based early childhood curriculum which allows students to grow at their own pace and explore the use of language and letters in a developmentally appropriate way.
